(21 Nov 09 - RV) The UN and Denmark this week said that a binding international treaty to limit greenhouse gas emissions will slip to mid-2010 or beyond, and a summit in Copenhagen next month will fall short of its ambitions.
The United Nations' top climate official said a treaty could be wrapped up at talks in Bonn by mid-2010.
Denmark, host of next month's meeting, said it might take longer – until Mexico in December.

Some climate change skeptics and bloggers claim the information shows scientists have overstated the case for global warming, and allege the documents contain proof that some researchers have attempted to manipulate data.
The furor over the leaked data comes weeks before the U.N. climate conference in Copenhagen, when 192 nations will seek to reach a binding treaty to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping greenhouse gases worldwide.

Al Gore's award-winning global warming film "An Inconvenient Truth," socked two years ago by a British court ruling that found several errors, is facing additional scrutiny with the release of a new documentary that seeks to rebut many of Gore's claims.
In Gore's film, directed by Davis Guggenheim and released in 2006, the former vice president argues that humans are causing climate change, a problem he says is the biggest moral challenge facing the globe.

We've been to Spring Island, South Carolina before to check out Bank of America chief exec Ken Lewis's getaway home (still on the market and the price keeps dropping ).

The property consists of two separate lots, the 3.48 acre lot the house is on and a 3.13 acre lot directly across the pond from the house which provides privacy and serves as an ample nesting area for local birds.

It is a tremendous disappointment to Unite Here staff members represented by our staff union, UUHS, that Steven Greenhouse and The New York Times chose to publish such a one-sided piece about alleged practices within Unite Here. His story is founded on trumped-up claims made by disgruntled former staffers, one of whom currently works for SEIU, and another who helped SEIU interfere with an organizing campaign.
We are shocked by Mr. Greenhouse's irresponsible reporting and lack of journalistic integrity.

Gracelyn Joseph rises before the sun. She leaves her rented room in Windsor at 4 a.m. to meet her carpooling buddies for the one-hour trip to the Kingsville greenhouse where she works.
At about 5:30 a.m., her knife slices through the first bunch of mushrooms she'll harvest for the next 10 to 12 hours.
It's a meagre living, but Joseph has always made ends meet in spite of crippling expenses.

Gapor's old factory, which made glass for the Soviet military and space program, shut down in the early 1990s after the Soviet Union disintegrated.
Private wrecking crews and desperate jobless people like Gapor then turned the town's industries, which once employed 16,000 workers, into heaps of bricks.
In the days when Ukraine was a Soviet republic, Konstantinovka was a booming town of 100,000 with 25 factories.
